Dušan Kostić (1995) first had piano lessons when he was seven. From the age of twelve he studied in Ćuprija with Prof. Aleksandar Blagojevic at the Strings School for musically gifted children and currently studying at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia with Prof, Ivica Marušević. Dušan was awarded first with Special Prize from Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic for best results in 2014 -15. In 2012 and 2014 he won first prize at National Competition of Serbia, in 2014 the final second prize at International Double bass Competition of Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf.
In January 2016. He became solo double bassist of the LGT Young Soloists Orchestra and in 2017. Member of Gstaad Menuhin Festival Orchestra, guest principal double bassist of Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra and The World Orchestra. Dušan has performed with many other orchestras, including the Sinfónica Juvenil de Caracas, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra , Ljubljana International Orchestra, Sistema Europe Youth Orchestra, Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra, CEI European Youth Orchestra, Ćuprija Chamber Orchestra, Bolshoi Festival Orchestra, Chamber Ensemble Metamorphosis, New Belgrade Opera, Neue Internationale Philharmonie, Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, Classical Concert Chamber Orchestra, Andreas Makris Symphony Orchestra
He had the opportunity to perform with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Valery Gergiev, Danielle Gatti, Kristjan Jarvi, Jap Van Zweden, Howard Griffits, Uroš Lajovic, Lior Shambadal, Emil Tabakov, Klaus Arp, Sergey Smbatyan, Konrad Von Abel, Živa Ploj Peršuh, Josep Vicent, Yoel Gamzou, Igor Coretti, Dietrich Paredes, Bruno Campo, Bojan Suđić, Predrag Gosta, Srboljub Dinić and with renowned soloists Gregory Ahss, Alexandar Gilman, Sol Gabetta, Fazil Say, Gabriela Montero, Lana Trotovsek, Gordan Nikolić, Konstantin Phiz, Ashot Tigranyan and Roman Simović.
He performed in the top music festivals such as Gstaad Menihun Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , Abu Dhabi Classics, Bolshoi Music Festival, Rheingau Music Festival, Ljubljana Festival, Bemus Festival, Nomus Festival and many great concert halls in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Austria, United States of America, Switzerland, Poland, Slovenia, Liehtenstein, Denmark, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Egypt, Singapore, Israel, Oman, Hong Kong, Jordan, Slovakia, United Arap Emirates, Czech Republic and Serbia.
He participated in master classes of renowed double bassists Roman Patkolo, Janne Saksala, Thomas Martin, Peter Lloyd, Amerigo Bernardi, Petru Iuga, Alberto Bocini, Klaus Trumpf, Ander Perrino, Alessandro Serra, Artem Čirkov and many more.
